The American Museum of Natural History is one of the largest and most innovative natural history museums in the world. Journey through the universe in the spectacular Rose Center for Earth and Space. Group Entrance: Motor coaches will drop off and groups will pick up tickets at the Rose Center entrance on 81st Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. Our staff will assist you with motor coach parking near the Museum.

MYTHIC CREATURES: DRAGONS, UNICORNS & MERMAIDS

For thousands of years, fantastical creatures have inspired legends and fables, ancient art, and even early naturalists. This exhibition will include a spectacular range of cultural objects and fossils from around the world exposing surprising similarities and differences in the ways various peoples have envisioned their strange and wonderful creatures. Mythic Creatures will feature live animals — such as crocodiles, bats, owls, and snakes — as well as preserved specimens from the Museum’s collections, and even fossils of prehistoric animals to investigate how they could have, through misidentification, speculation, and imagination, inspired the development of these legendary beasts.
